Vellinezhi Achuthankutty is an Indian scientist and a theatre scholar. He is famous well-known works such as KathakaliyudaeKaipusthakam( A Handbook of Kathakali) and Kathakalipadangal ( Verses of Kathakali). He is a recipient of prestigious Kerala Kalamandalam Award (2013) and Indian Society of Earthquake Engineering Award (1984). Achuthankutty hails from the village Chunagad near Ottapalm in Kerala. After his education from NSS College,Ottapalm and Palakkad Victoria College, he joined Baba Atomic Research Centre, Trombay and continued service with the Department of Meteorology (Directorate general of civil aviation in meteorology of Sultanate of Oman) until 2001. He holds post-graduation degrees in physics and psychology, Diploma in traditional architecture and data processing.He is the serving director of Tantra Academy (Tantra Academy of Behavioural and Allied Sciences), President of VellinezhiNanunairSmarakakalakendram, Chief coordinator of VellinezhiKalagramam and District co-ordinator Spic Mackey
