about disasters and their management. It is in this context that this book assumes its significance. It specifically addresses those who are worst hit by disasters - children. The book is written in an attractive manner, through animated communication with sketches. Appu, a playful baby elephant is portrayed as interacting with three school children who are on a vacation trip to their ancestral village home. This way of presenting knowledge is of course of proven effectiveness. The book is authored by a senior academic of the state who has led the Institute of Land and Disaster Management also the Institute of Climate Change Studies in Kerala.
